A Midsummer Night's Dream, a play written by Shakespeare, was made into a movie starring Calista Flockhart, Rupert Everett, Kevin Kline etc..a romance made hilarious by the ingenious introduction of a bicycle (by the 19th Century pple of course!) Although Shakespeare, this is one I highly recommend, and as a plus-point, the scenery and music is excellent!
